Andy is a seasoned outdoor professional dedicated to breaking down barriers in outdoor recreation and making adventure accessible to all. As the founder of XP Adventure, he combines his extensive guiding experience with a passion for education, empowering students to develop the foundational skills needed to confidently pursue their outdoor passions independently.
His commitment to inclusive outdoor education began with founding a nonprofit organization that brought outdoor education and recreation programs to Title 1 schools throughout the Denver area. This work reflects his core belief that everyone deserves access to transformative outdoor experiences, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Andy's expertise spans the full spectrum of outdoor activities, gained through years of professional guiding across diverse environments. His experience includes ice climbing and sea kayaking in Alaska's rugged wilderness, leading white water canoe expeditions and working ski mountain operations in the Northeast, and guiding rock climbing, white water rafting, mountain biking, and backpacking adventures throughout Colorado's varied terrain.
Through XP Adventure, Andy focuses on comprehensive skill development that goes beyond simply experiencing outdoor activities. He teaches the technical knowledge, safety protocols, and decision-making abilities that enable his students to become self-reliant outdoor enthusiasts. His approach emphasizes building confidence through competence, ensuring that participants leave his programs with both unforgettable memories and the practical skills to create their own adventures safely and successfully.
