Families with kids 6+ | Saturday 8:00 AM - Sunday 5:00 PM | Woodland Park Pickup/Drop-off

Experience the perfect blend of family adventure and romantic escape! This isn't your typical camping trip—it's a transformative weekend where your family bonds through shared outdoor challenges while parents get the rare gift of a magical date night under the stars. Imagine: Saturday exploring the wilderness together as a family, learning camp craft, hiking with map and compass, and building memories around the campfire. Then, as evening falls, parents retreat to a private romantic campsite for stargazing and uninterrupted couple time while kids stay at main camp for their own supervised adventure complete with wilderness skills workshops, campfire games, s'mores, and overnight fun with new friends. Sunday morning, reunite refreshed for an exciting day of rock climbing where the whole family scales real rock together, cheering each other on and discovering new strengths. Parents return reconnected, kids return confident and independent, and everyone leaves with stories they'll tell for years. This is family camping reimagined!

Your Weekend of Adventure:

SATURDAY - Family Bonding & Navigation Day:

Morning (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Meet at Woodland Park and caravan or ride together to your wilderness camp location in beautiful Park or Teller County. Upon arrival, receive a warm welcome and camp orientation before diving into family camp craft skills—learn proper tent setup, camp organization, and wilderness living fundamentals as a family team. Get introduced to map and compass navigation with basic concepts everyone can understand, from youngest to oldest. Then embark on a guided family hike where you'll apply your new navigation skills on the trail, identify terrain features together, observe nature, and learn about the local ecology. This isn't just hiking—it's adventure education that brings your family together through shared discovery!

Midday (1:00 PM - 4:30 PM): Enjoy lunch together at camp, then relax with free family time to explore, journal, play games, or simply soak in the beauty of your wilderness surroundings. When ready, level up with advanced navigation practice including orienteering basics and family route planning exercises. Learn campfire cooking instruction and prepare dinner together, building practical outdoor living skills.

Evening (5:30 PM - Night): HERE'S WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS!

FOR PARENTS (Optional Date Night Experience): After briefing your children and packing your tent, hike to your designated private campsite. Set up your romantic wilderness retreat with provided supplies. As darkness falls, experience some of Colorado's most incredible stargazing—the Milky Way stretches overhead like you've never seen it. Reconnect without distractions, and remember why you fell in love, all while knowing your kids are safe, supervised, and having their own amazing experience. Fall asleep to wilderness sounds and wake up refreshed for Sunday's adventures.

FOR KIDS (Supervised Camp Adventure): While parents enjoy their date night, kids gather with enthusiastic counselors for an evening they won't forget! After a fun kid-friendly dinner, dive into age-appropriate wilderness skills workshops learning fire safety, basic knot tying, and outdoor fundamentals. Gather around the campfire for an exciting program filled with games, songs, and adventure stories that inspire. Enjoy treats while celebrating the day's accomplishments. When bedtime comes, settle into the supervised kids' sleeping area where trained staff provide 24/7 supervision throughout the night. This is independence-building and confidence-growing in action!

SUNDAY - Rock Climbing & Skills Day:

Morning (7:00 AM - 12:30 PM): Parents return from private site (if applicable) while kids wake with counselors for morning activities. THE FAMILY REUNION BREAKFAST is a special moment—everyone reconnects over a delicious meal, sharing stories from their separate adventures. Now it's time to CLIMB! Receive family rock climbing orientation with safety briefing and equipment fitting for all ages. Expert instructors teach fundamental climbing techniques adapted for everyone from your 6-year-old to grandparents. Then the family climbing practice begins—watch your kids' faces light up as they reach the top of their first route! Cheer each other on, belay your family members, and discover strengths you didn't know you had. Age-appropriate routes mean everyone is challenged at just the right level.

Midday & Afternoon (12:30 PM - 5:00 PM): Enjoy lunch together (at camp or climbing area depending on location), energized for more vertical adventures! Continue climbing with more advanced routes and personal challenges—each family member sets their own goals and achieves them with family support. Experience the incredible family wilderness skills session where everyone learns water purification techniques, basic shelter construction, and emergency preparedness together. These are skills you'll use on future family adventures! Work together to pack up camp using Leave No Trace principles, teaching kids proper wilderness stewardship. Gather for a meaningful family reflection circle where everyone shares favorite moments, lessons learned, and goals for future adventures. After final photos and celebration of achievements, depart for Woodland Park with hearts full and memories made.
