Welcome the Fall Colors šŸšŸ‚

September marks the beginning of fall in Colorado, and it's a month full of stunning colors and crisp mountain air. As the aspen trees turn gold and the summer crowds start to dwindle, it's the perfect time to explore the great outdoors.

One of the best ways to experience the fall colors is to take a scenic drive. The Peak to Peak Highway stretches from Black Hawk to Estes Park, winding through the stunning foliage of the Front Range. The San Juan Skyway in southwest Colorado is another must-see, with miles of aspen groves and stunning mountain vistas. Stop at the Dallas Divide for a picnic and soak in the views of the Sneffels Range.

For a more active fall adventure, go for a hike. The Maroon Bells near Aspen are a classic destination, with stunning views of the twin peaks reflected in Maroon Lake. The trail to Crater Lake is a moderate hike that takes you through aspen groves and along a rushing stream. In Rocky Mountain National Park, the trail to Ouzel Falls winds through a colorful forest and ends at a stunning waterfall.

September is also a great time for a fall camping trip. The crowds have thinned out, but the weather is still mild enough for comfortable nights under the stars. Golden Gate Canyon State Park near Denver offers a variety of camping options, from backcountry sites to cozy cabins. Or head to the San Isabel National Forest near Buena Vista for stunning views of the Collegiate Peaks and some of the best stargazing in the state.

As you look ahead to October, consider planning a fall festival trip. Colorado is home to a variety of unique festivals, from the Telluride Horror Show film festival to the Emma Crawford Coffin Races in Manitou Springs. The Great American Beer Festival in Denver is a must-visit for craft beer lovers, with over 800 breweries from across the country showcasing their best brews.
