Max 12 participants (youth & parents combined) | Spring & Fall | Woodland Park Pickup/Drop-off

Your homeschool group deserves an outdoor education experience designed JUST FOR YOU! Imagine having expert wilderness instructors create a completely customized adventure that matches your group's specific interests, goals, age ranges, and skill levels—whether you're all complete beginners or have mixed experience. Choose from rock climbing on real Colorado rock, backcountry hiking with navigation mastery, wilderness survival skills, or exciting combinations of multiple activities. Go single-day for an intensive skill-building experience, or multi-day to dive deep into comprehensive outdoor education. Parents and youth learn side-by-side, building your homeschool community bonds while gaining practical skills and PE/science credit. From your free planning consultation through your adventure day(s) to receiving detailed curriculum documentation for your homeschool records, every aspect is tailored to serve your educational community. This is outdoor education on YOUR terms, creating exactly the experience your group needs!

Your Customized Adventure Awaits:

Planning Phase (1 Month Before): Your journey begins with a FREE planning consultation where we discuss your group's unique goals, interests, age ranges, and experience levels. Want to focus entirely on rock climbing? Perfect! Prefer a combination of navigation and wilderness skills? Absolutely! Looking for multi-day progression across several outdoor disciplines? Let's design it! Together we'll create the ideal program, confirm optimal dates within spring (March-May) or fall (September-November) seasons, and plan every detail from activities to timing to educational outcomes.

Sample Single-Day Adventure Structure:

Morning Session (Typically 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM): Depart Woodland Park for locations throughout Park and Teller County selected specifically for your chosen activities. Dive immediately into hands-on instruction designed for your group's starting point:

Rock Climbing Groups: Equipment familiarization, climbing fundamentals, safety systems, initial routes with progressive difficulty, group encouragement and support

Hiking/Navigation Groups: Topographic map reading instruction, compass mastery, guided hike applying skills in real-time, terrain feature identification as a team

Wilderness Skills Groups: Fire starting techniques from primitive to modern, water purification methods, hands-on practice with every skill, building competence through doing

Midday (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM): Lunch together (bring your own for single-day programs) while processing the morning's lessons, asking questions, and building community among your homeschool families.

Afternoon Session (1:00 PM - 5:00-5:30 PM): The learning deepens and challenges increase:

Rock Climbing: Belaying certification, progressive routes, rappelling (if appropriate), personal goal achievement, celebration of how far you've come

Hiking/Navigation: Advanced compass techniques, off-trail navigation challenges, team orienteering courses, problem-solving together, navigation confidence building

Wilderness Skills: Knife safety with protective gloves, emergency shelter building, cordage and knots, signaling techniques, survival scenario discussions

All programs conclude with meaningful group debrief, skills review, presentation of certificates documenting accomplishments, and distribution of resources for continued learning back home.

Multi-Day Combination Examples:

Two-Day Adventure Option: Day 1 could focus on rock climbing and introduction to wilderness skills, while Day 2 dives into backcountry navigation and advanced survival techniques. Or design your own perfect combination!

Three-Day Immersion Option: Comprehensive outdoor education covering climbing, navigation, AND wilderness skills with progressive difficulty, deep relationship building, and true outdoor competency development.
